Active Learning & Kinesthetic Processing
Our active learning classes are held entirely outside, weather permitting. Active learning, also known as kinesthetic processing, is backed by science; research repeatedly shows that students retain material long-term when taught in ways that engage motion, the senses, and creativity.
Gone are the days of stagnant lectures and endless worksheets. At Prescott Life School, we present the core concepts of a lesson and then immediately involve students in active games, art projects, or sensory activities that reinforce the material. This allows students to have fun, enjoy the outdoors, and actually remember what they are taught.
Individualized Math & ELA — Flexible for Every Family
Every student learns at their own pace. Traditional learning models often fail to challenge "fast learners" or accidentally speed past those who need more time. By providing individualized lessons and adding extra staff during Math and ELA, we ensure every student works at a pace that lets them reach their highest potential.
Families have a choice: we can provide the Math and ELA curriculum, or parents can supply their own homeschool curriculum — we simply deliver instruction on it. Either way, your child receives focused, small-group support in a structured classroom setting.
Our Faith Foundation
Prescott Life School is a ministry of Prescott Life Church; however, our students are taught non-denominationally. We teach the Bible as the infallible Word of God. We seek to unify families from different church backgrounds under the core teachings of Scripture rather than splintering over denominational differences. Our chapel sessions are always open for parents to attend.
A Typical Daily Schedule
Our day includes core electives (such as History, Science, or Chapel), Math, Snack, ELA, Lunch (40–50 minutes depending on grade), PE, and a "fun" elective (such as Art, STEM, or Language).
We aim to have students seated at desks only during Math and ELA. The remainder of the day is spent in the fresh air at our outdoor learning areas. Because we recognize that many students perform better with "brain breaks" or physical motion, we also offer a variety of flexible seating options for quiet, focused learning times.
Accountability and Class Culture
Class culture is a hallmark of the Prescott Life School experience. Student behavior is reported weekly so that students remain accountable at home for both positive and negative choices made at school. We provide updates to parents on key attributes, including: Leadership, Class readiness, Willingness to take redirection, and Sharing and conflict resolution.
Through regular reporting, students learn responsibility and understand that their character and behaviors are valued and observed.
Faith First
While academic achievement is a priority, we believe knowledge is only one part of a child's development. We direct and redirect our students using Scripture and Biblical truth. Our goal is to help children mature in their understanding of who created them, why they were created, and how they can honor the Lord in their lives. Our teachers are all believers in Christ who live according to Scripture and lead their classrooms with those same values.
